Why don't cigarettes go out when lit, but cigars go out?

Paper cigarettes are verified by smoldering experiments to ensure that smoldering will not go out. The reason for not extinguishing is that the potassium and sodium salts of citric acid, a combustion accelerant, are added to the cigarette paper, and the cigarette paper has a certain degree of air permeability. Secondly, the expanded shredded tobacco in general cigarettes also helps the cigarette burn. The cigar wrapper is made from tobacco leaves without the addition of combustion aids. Therefore, cigars must be equipped with a good lighter, because they have to be taken out from time to time to light. How is the length of a cigarette determined? The specifications of the initial cigarette products are 70, 84, 85, 90, 95, 100, 120 (mm). The length of the cigarette without filter tip is 70 mm, and the effective smoking length is about 60 mm. The 84mm cigarette contains a 19mm filter, and the length of the cigarette is 65mm. Due to the addition of the filter, its effective smoking length is also 60mm. This is the origin of 84. Now there is a national standard, and the regulation is 84 mm. But now, with the continuous innovation of cigarette companies, the length and thickness of cigarettes have also become varied.
